Flu Shot!!!

Flu Shot!!!

I am going to be required to take a flu shot tomorrow (H1N1). Flu shots in the past have generally been a precursor for a weeklong bout with death for me. I am wondering if anyone else has taken it and what its effects were.

Geez, you're riskng your life for us there and you're concerned about a flu shot. Well I have a friend in health care who has taken it with no effects at all so I hope that makes you a bit less uneasy, you have enough to worry about. Thanks. - Yeser007, Oct 23, 2009

OK Seitheach, just be honest and admit it: you're scared of needles just like my husband tongue laugh

I got the shot 11 hours ago and am already sick. And yes I am terrified of needles! - Seitheach, Oct 24, 2009
I'm a blood donor and I asked him many times to join me... And yet he's answer has always been the same: "Nooo!!" ;)) - Issabela, Oct 24, 2009
I donate blood sometimes, but I always hate it. - Seitheach, Oct 24, 2009

I actually asked for the H1N1 and the regular flu shots today, but the doctor told me he ran out of them. confused I'll pray that you don't suffer too much. If anyone deserves a break, you do!

Be healthy, Nicole

Yo soy demasiado sana, no tengo enfermedades de riesgo ni nada, una suerte, con lo que no estoy en el grupo de riesgo.

En España no están vacunando aún.

This flu shot was forced on me by the Army other wise i would have never taken it. - Seitheach, Oct 24, 2009

It's weird, some people swear by flushots and some swear against them. I don't go for them myself, as they have made me violently sick in the past.

It'll have the same effect on you as a normal one would, so if you normally get sick from them, I would expect it again.

I haven't met anyone yet who has suffered side effects, but know several people who have already had swine flu (it's going around my neighborhood) and, though it sucked, they all recovered fully within 3-4 days of the first symptoms... it's harsh but short if you happen to get it.

I had the same experience with military flu shots about 20 years ago! However, the one I got last week (the first one since those mandatory ones long ago), had no adverse effects, so things may be different now.
