How would you say "cupcake" in Spanish? Pastelito? Magdalena? Tortita? I want to ask the parents of my Spanish-speaking students to bring cupcakes for our Halloween party at school.

Well pastelito is more of a dumpling, tortita is more or less a pancake, so I believe that Orcus is right, its Magdalena. smile

This has been asked before. The answer is that cupcakes are something from US and not common in other countries. There is not an exact translation. "Magdalenas" look close to it, but are not the same.

I think this may be one of those regional things too where it's different everywhere you go.
