More information on the word "dinde"

Further to my previous post when I asked if anyone knew what "dinde" meant in some text in a Spanish Newspaper. It turns out one Spanish politician was referring to another politician as a "turkey" using the French word "dinde" . I had´nt recognised it as a French word at first - after all I am trying to learn Spanish and therefore wondered if it was a known expression.

Thanks for help offered but I think we´ll forget that one!

No te preocupes, Caza. It is true I that envy you your new life in Spain. But, I would not stoop to thinking of you as "une dinde".

That's funny. When you posted I looked it up in several sources and saw only the French "turkey" and thought that it could not possibly be what you were looking for.

Thanks for letting us know. grin
