sunshine, this sentence is technically not correct. You are right, the second part of the sentence should take the past of the subjunctive.

¿Quería que trajeramos....

So Mark was right, and redsox was not.

Ok, so I am rereading the whole lot, just in case.

Redsox, if I am not mistaken, this is a question for the future?

Do you want us to bring.....?

¿Quiere que traigamos una copia también?

papel is superfluous.

Quería is did you want .....you used the wrong tense.

Technically you should refer to your teacher as "Ud" so I would say ¿quería que traigamos una copia del papel también? the subjunctive can be difficult, but you got that part correct.

Would it be present subjunctive or the past (imperfect) subjunctive? Please correct me if I am wrong, as I am learning this concept right now. - sunshinzmommie, Oct 22, 2009

Would somebody please clarify this? ¿Hay alguien explique este concepto a mí? I felt as if I had it down, but the confusion with this simple sentence has me confused yet again. Esoy confundida sobre esta oración.

Would the past (imperfect) subjunctive be used or the present subjunctive? Just trying to clarify for my own learning, I am being tested over the four uses of the subjunctive on Tuesday. smile

Okay, I am learning the subjunctive right now...I think you need to use the imperfect subjunctive, because you are asking her in the past, did you want in the first clause and us to bring a paper copy in the second. I hope I am not wrong, but somebody will correct me if I am smile

I agree with using Usted :) - sunshinzmommie, Oct 22, 2009

ok gracias, lo cambié a usted.

A veces me siento incómoda a usar 'usted' porque no puedo usarlo siempre sin problemas, así que si siempre uso 'tú', no tengo problemas!
