queria y guardado

This is one of my son's homework phrases/words. Queria y guardado. We have no idea what it means. One source says guardado means daycare. But it seems in this instance, they mean "wanted to keep". Not sure.

Thanks everyone. We have found that "guardado" is to keep/protect. And I am thinking that "queria" has a releated meaning? - drmad7, Oct 18, 2009

I guess you mean "guarderia" or daycare in some latinamerican countries.

Thanks. We will go with that. My son is in 3rd grade Spanish at a Spanish Immersion school and the instructions are in Spanish also. They provided homework for him while he was out and he was not in school to get the definitions. - drmad7, Oct 18, 2009

i'd agree with loved and protected.

querer is to love or to want

guardar is to hold, and keep,

i think the above is the best option i've seen

Well queria comes from the verb querer, which means 'to want'.

Thanks I didn't know the root. The second definition in this dictionary is to love. - nizhoni1, Oct 18, 2009

"Guardado" is the participle of the verb "guardar" (to keep, to save, to keep watch over).

Now that I look over his homework further, the words are not being used together. So it is "guardado" menaing "to keep, protect". And it is "queria", which we don't know what to do with. - drmad7, Oct 18, 2009

Could it mean loved and protected?I would need to see the context.Just an intuitive guess.
