Diferencia entre "sobre" y "acerca de"
What is the difference between "sobre" and "acera de" and could you provide some examples.
Both seem to mean "about" but I am confused with the usage. I thought "acerca de" was more "concerning/relating to" but today I was doing some grammar exercises and came across "¿Leiste el artículo sobre el viaje a la luna la semana pasada? Could you replace "sobre" with "acerca de"?
If I was saying someone was passionate about books -" son apasionada acerca de libros" OR I said/wrote: "I decided to write about it" (it being the movie) "decidí escribir acerca de la." - I am now really confused whether to use "sobre" or "acerca de". Are they interchangeable or are there rules about when to use which term.

In the context you have provided, they appear to be interchangeable. Sobre is more versatile and can be used in more situations than acerca de, but they can both be used to mean about (concerning/as pertains to/that talks about/relating to/etc). Each of your sentences uses "about" in this context. Where they would not be interchangeable is when you were trying to use "about" to mean approximately. When you are using it in this context, "sobre" would be the one to go with.
