¨¿Cómo puede ayudar Usted?¨
Could this opening be used for customers coming to the service desk? If they are a customer I am familiar with I could substitute ¨Tü ? Or should I drop the ending? I am getting more and more comfortable beginning the conversation in Spanish. My goal is to be confident enough to mix in phrases without being self conscience that I´m murdering the language. My experience has been that I get a double take, and then a smile. I´ll ask in English ¨Did that sound right? Could you understand?¨ and usually get a positive answer and continue the conversation in English. Is this kind of opening frustrating to a native Spanish speaker if I open in Spanish but then change to English?
