I am doing a project on Día de Los Muertos. The rubric is below.

Día de Los Muertos Diorama de una Ofrenda

Due on October 29th, 2009

To celebrate el Día de Los Muertos, we are going to research a famous person who is no longer living. You will do a “Diorama de una Ofrenda” which will include things that the person liked and did and you may use a box as your display to decorate accordingly, or you may choose to do a power point presentation.

You will present your Diorama to the class in first person (pretend that you are the person you researched) while explaining your reasons for including specific items in the box or power point. Your written description as well as your oral presentation must all be in Spanish.

You will be graded using the following rubric:

Written description of the person and items in the box _______60 points The written description must be a minimum of 50 words and include the following: 1. ¿Cómo eres físicamente? 2. ¿Cómo eres tu personalidad? 3. ¿Qué te gusta? 4. ¿Qué no te gusta? 5. ¿Qué haces in tu tiempo libre? 6. ¿Por qué eres famoso/famosa? O ¿Por qué eres importante?

Oral Presentation ______20 points This must be memorized and presented entirely in Spanish.

Diorama/Power Point ______20 points This should include a minimum of six items, labeled in Spanish, and this must also adequately reflect the theme for el Día de Los Muertos.
*Please see your teachers and/or the webpage for examples.

      _________/100

(Major Test Grade)

The only thing that I am unsure of is how to format it on a powerpoint. It is due on the coming Tuesday(10/20/09) despite the fact that it is written above for the 29th. I need to know how to put music for the sound clips. There is an example of Elvis Presley which I viewed. Please help if you have enough free time. Thank you.

The link for Elvis's powerpt. is below. Click on the Elvis Presley Video Example.

Never ask for help using a piece of software without mentioning your OS and what version of the software that you are using. Since you have sound on the slide I am assuming this is a later version (MS Office 2007 or later?)

Do you want the sound in the background for your entire project like the Elvis Presley project or are you going to have a event to start and stop the music somewhere within the project?

Did you teacher mention a version of PPT to use? It won't do you any good to make the slideshow if he/she can't display it. Do you plan on uploading it online at any point? Do you know yet what type of sound file that you will be using, a prerecorded MP3 file, a recording that you plan on making yourself, etc.?

background during whole presentation

As this part of your question probably isn't a proper topic for a language forum, feel free to PM me with any specific questions.
