Profile Page Profile Badge
Hey, Everybody!
Go to your profile page by clicking on your own name in the upper right hand corner of the blue menu bar at the top of the screen.
When you get to your profile page, look down the left side to where it says "Edit My Profile". Click on "Edit My Profile".
Fill in as much of the information as is asked for (please no home addresses or telephone numbers).
In the "About You" area, state which language you are trying to learn here at Span¡shD!ct.com. Also say anything else about yourself that is not privileged confidential information.
Many users did not fill in the blanks when they enrolled as members. This information is a often enough a big help in knowing how to reply toward a questioner or understanding the question framers knowledge of English or Spanish. This is even truer if neither Spanish nor English is your mother tongue.
What's in it for you?? It's like a cracker-jack prize, because, you will earn a Profile Badge which will be added to your profile page. Span¡shD!ct has spared every expense to bring you this intrinsic reward. And, even more important, it will demonstrate that you are a more participating member of the Span¡shD!ct community.
When you have done it, just come back here and enter a reply that says "I did IT" or "Hey look at me" or anything brief to let us know you that revealed yourself.

Yes, Moe, I have done this already. I think this is a great idea to encourage everyone to include as much information as possible. I know many have security concerns or other reasons for not sharing information. However, so many times I have been unsure how to answer a question or what to say when editing someone's post. For the most part, I am looking to see what country or part of the world they are from and/or their age.
The other day, I edited someone and gave the usual lecture about spelling, grammar and punctuation, only to find out that English was not their native tongue. I felt so bad. I was also in awe of them that they were now working on their third language.
I think that when receiving answers, knowing where someone is from would also be helpful. If I am looking for a colloquial expression that is used in Mexico, I might defer to someone from that country rather than someone from someplace else.
Hopefully, this post will encourage others to complete their profiles. The one question I do have in general about a problem I've noticed is that the dates people join and birthdays occasionally seem off. So many have joined on November 30. I'm not sure if that has been addressed already or not.
Muchas Gracias Moe,
Nicole

Mine is complete.
Suggestion: If you don't have a website just type in n/a and you'll still get your prolific badge for completing all of the questions.

I held up replying until today so as to bump this topic to the top. I updated mine last night.
