Translation help
I need help with the words for a food group. We are labeling food at a Head Start activity according to food groups in English and Spanish. How do I say "grain" as a food group in Spanish ---| grano or cereal? Also, how do you say "pasta salad"? Thanks.

grain= cereales Because "grano" is specifically wheat where as "cereales" includes corn, barley, rice and all the rest. Well, in Chile we say "ensalada de macarones" maybe because of the Italian influence but I don't know how they would say it in other spanish countries.
Thank you very much for your help. I thought it could be "ensalada de pasta", but I'm not very confident with my Spanish. I don't get much opportunity to speak it.
