I'm new to the site how do u put the upside down question marks in front of the sentence

or you can use keyboard shortcuts and hold Alt and use your number keypad and type 168. then when you let go of Alt it will appear - melyfong, Oct 13, 2009

How to insert accents when writing in Spanish

Option number 1:

Steps 1. Go to the place on your document where you need to insert a symbol. 2. Click on “Insert” on the word processor browser. 3. Under the options, select “Symbol” 4. A box will appear with many different symbols. Find the symbol that you would like to insert into your document and after selecting the symbol, click on “insert”. The symbol will then appear where you chose it to be placed.

Option number 2:

Steps to enter any accents for lowercase letters (á, é, í, ó, ú) 1. On your keyboard, first press Ctrl and hold it down. 2. Then press the apostrophe key while still holding the Ctrl key down. 3. Release these two keys and select the vowel that you want the accent on. 4. The accent will appear on top of the vowel.

Steps to enter any accents for uppercase letters (Á, É, Í, Ó, Ú) 1. On your keyboard, first press Ctrl and hold it down. 2. while still holding the Ctrl key down press the apostrophe key. 3. Release these two keys and then press Shift 4. While still holding the Shift key, press the key with the vowel of your choice.
5. Release these two keys and a capitalize letter with the accent will then appear.

Steps to enter the ñ 1. On your keyboard, first press Ctrl and hold it down. 2. While still holding the Ctrl key down, click on Shift. 3. While still holding the Ctrl and Shift key down, select the ~ sign (found on the top left hand side of the keyboard). 4. Release these keys and then select the n key. 5. The ñ will appear on your document.

**NOTE: Although the second option seems more complicated, I personally prefer this method because it enables me to continue my flow of writing. If you practice option two, it will become second nature to you and the first option will be more of a hassle. I encourage you to practice option two until you have mastered it.

In Firefox, the buttons you can click at the bottom of the form will always paste their characters into the end of your post. You have to cut and paste that character where you want it to go in your sentence. It's a pain.
