Question about simple verb exercise.

Question

Señale la persona del verbo.

ej.: Soy -> yo.

1) Sois ......... 2) Sos .........

Was trying to get these homework questions done. It was part of an exercise but I have no idea which verb these come from. I was working with the verb Ser but have never seen these verb patterns.

I am in Latin America so maybe these are from Spain?

Sois = "you all are" (informal)

It is used with vosostros (the plural of tú). In Latin America, they would use "Ustedes son" instead of "Vosostros sois."

It is used only in Spain, so far as I know.

I have no idea what sos means, though.

They use all forms of "vos", including "voseo" They pronounce "ll" like the american "y" but that's no big deal. You adjust to it very quickly.

The verb is Ser.

Sois would be used in Spain mostly. (2nd person, plural, indicative, informal, present tense)

Sos (2nd person singular, indicative, informal present tense used in place of eres) would be used in the Southern Cone countries of South America mostly.
