We've read this word in a story. It's a nickname given to a car, but I'm wanting to know it's meaning: "Carcanchita"

Carcancha (with an N) = Bus. Carcancha it does not = Jalopy. Carcacha (without an N) which does = wreck/jalopy is a different word. - Moe, Oct 9, 2009

The correct word in this case is: "Carcachita". Carcacha is a nickname given to those old automobiles.

Have you corrected the word because you did not find "carcanchita" or because you know from the story that the correct word is carcacha? See both of my entries in reply to this question. - Moe, Oct 9, 2009

There are two words in curculation in the question and answers in this post.

The question asked about the word "carcanchita" which is is the diminutive form of "carcancha".

RicaodoP and Lorenzo9 have introduced the word "carcachita" which is the diminutive form of "carcacha"

They are as between "carcanchita" and "carcachita" different words.

Carcachita means "Old crock, old banger" (or maybe cute little old crock or

    banger).

Carcanchita means "Bus' (or maybe cute little bus).

DJ Huero believes that my method or tool explained in my earlier reply is innacurate. I have to reply that my method works if you answer the right question. It seems Ricardo and Lorenzo have given the answer to a different question.

Enter the single word "Carcancha" into our dictionary (See the “Dictionary Tab” in the blue Span¡sD!ct menu bar at the top of the page)

the "ita" at the end just means it is a cute little "carchancha".

That's a good tool, but in this case it's inaccurate. It should be updated, just saying. - DJ_Huero, Oct 9, 2009
