What is the difference between a and para? Yo doy el lapiz a Anna? or Yo doy el lapiz para Anna?Thanks!

Well, literally "el lapiz a Ana" is the "the pencil to Ana" where as "el lapiz para Ana" is "the pencil for Ana."

I'm sure someone else can elaborate more on the subject.
