In terms of time how does one say AM versus PM, en la manana or tarde, or are there abbreviations?

Are there abbreviations for AM and PM or simply "en la manana" and "en la tarde" ?

HI kam, we ususally use por la mañana and por la tarde, yes, we do not use am or pm.

Sometimes, like on tv, they use AM, PM. Sometimes they say "por la tarde" or "por la noche". Depends on who is talking and their particular style of speech or writing. In speech, if I'm going to meet my friend in the morning, I'd say "Te veo entonces a las 7 de la manana", for the sake of clarity. I wouldn't say I'l see you at 7:00 AM. Just a personal style thing. wink
