is there a difference in using ten cuidado and tenga cuidado?

I think ten cuidado and tenga cuidado both mean be careful, but are they interchangable or should they be used differently?

HI Anthony, welcome to the forum 
ten cuidado is the informal form, tenga cuidado the formal one, when you don0t know somebody, an old lady.....

Y ahi mucha diferencia a la hora de usar una o otra.
Para desconocidos es muy aconsejable usar:
Tenga cuidado
Para amigos/conocidos:
Ten cuidado
