Do you conjugate adjectives as you do verbs, i.e. handsome/difficult/sympathetic?

I am trying to understand forms of adjectives when it comes to the use of them in a sentence. For example Books are difficult how would i say that in spanish and is saying the evidence is difficult the same thing. I am having some confusion

Only verbs are conjugated. Adjectives do have to agree in gender and number however, to words they are modifying.
