I was driving down the road and I saw this truck that had "Adiós balla con diós" on the back and I was really wanting to know what it means. I know Adios is goodbye and con dios is with god but I have never heard the word "balla" and I really want to know what this phrase is.

"Vaya con Dios" means "Go with God" or "God be with you" etc.

Do you have any clue what balla is though? I've never heard this word and my boyfriend speaks spanish and he said he doesn't even know that word. - Meganb87, Sep 29, 2009
Yes, it's a misspelling of "vaya." They sound exactly the same in Spanish. - --Mariana--, Sep 29, 2009
Concuerdo con Marianne. - Goyo, Sep 29, 2009

I have been wondering, is adios a shortened version of vaya con Dios?

Close; adiós = a + dios => "to god" (from Latin ad + deus)

"Adios, vaya con dios"

Literal translation = bye, go with God

It means, "Bye and may God be with you"
