regarding editor badge

Question

Does this mean you edit/correct your own text or someone else's? I am trying to figure out where I can begin to earn points for reputation.I could easily earn some by making corrections to someone's English attempts at this time.

You get a badge for the first edition of your own text, because to edit sb else's posts you need to gain 2000 reputation.

Thanks Greg that brings it into a little better focus for me. I am quite capable of errors in Spanish at this point. The progress may be slow but this editing your own posts for reputation points looks like a carrot to lead one to write in Spanish.

They are, but some badges are awarded for reputation, e.g. when your answer is voted on by 5 people, you get a "good answer" badge. - Issabela, Sep 29, 2009

Speaking of editing, I was trying to post an answer earlier and the box showed nothing but my avatar. Somehow, the answer was not posted. How do I delete the empty box?

Yes, I thought it was very funny when I received the "Editor of the Week" badge, and had edited nothing but my own mistakes!

Once you reach 2000 reputation points you can edit other people's posts, but you only get 6 per day- and that includes your own!

I'm not sure whether there is a 6-edit daily limit on your own posts when you are below 2K, but I can tell you it is very frustrating when I've written something incorrectly and I've used all my edits for the day and can't fix it! Arrrggh!
