What does "sea" mean in Spanish?

I asked my Spanish teacher this and she just said we'd learn it later in the year. But I want to know it ahead of time, can someone please help me? (Oh, sorry for the confusion, I mean from the verb ser!)

¡Le doy gracias por su ayuda! grin

Sea= it to be, or it is. This is taken from the mandatos, or command form of the SER in the el/ ella/ usted conjugation.

Hayley, I believe that they are talking about Sea, from the verb SER, not that of water.
