Podría pasar perfectamente sin ése

Podría pasar perfectamente sin ése

In a previous thread it was said that a suitable way express the sentiment - I could do without that - would be to say -*podria pasar perfectamente sin ése.

There is another expression that is very similar in meaning that uses the word live in place of do.

I could live without that. - Podría vivir perfectamente sin ése.

My question is could this be used in the same context in Spanish as in English. Could you say something like:

Podría vivir perfectamente sin todos los mentirosos - I could live without all the lying.

Or would this expression only be used in more literal expression:

Podría vivir sin jabón pero me lo haga (estaría) tan miserable [Note: I was not sure if hacer/estar should have been in the conditional or subjunctive...if you know--please share smile )

or

Podría vivir sin agua por un par de días.

HI Izan, I think you saw me use that. And yes, "can do without" is expressed that way.

Podría vivir perfectamente sin todas tus mentiras - I could live without all the lying.

Podría vivir sin jabón pero estaría tan triste.

Remember "miserable", false friendwink

Podría vivir sin agua por un par de

Correct.

but if you want to say: I coud do without....you would always use "Pasar sin"

Podría pasar sin beber pero..... Podría pasar sin el foro pero.....wink
