tres millión, cuatrocientos ochenta y cinco mil, cuatrocientos dos is 3,485,402

In order to be able to write big numbers, you will really need to study the basics. Numbers are not so hard once you do a little memorization and understand the system.

You do not place the "y" after any numbers until you reach 30 or treinta. Since you have a test, I'm sure you have a book to study from. Memorize numbers in groups. Know your numbers from 1-10, followed by 11-19. After that learn the tens like 20, 30, 40, etc. Following that, do the same with the hundreds like 100, 200, 300, etc.

Once you have all of that memorized, it is only a matter of learning the proper order to put all the numbers in. I think the number above will give you a good idea of how to do it.

20 + 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 = veinti veintiuno, veintodós, veintitrés, veinticuatro, veinticinco, veintiséis, veintisiete, veintiocho, veintinueve. Since such numbers are ruled by Spanish spelling and some accents must be added.

30 + 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 = treinta y treinta y uno, treinta y dos, treinta y tres, etc.

Here we have 2 separated words and dos, tres, seis are not accented.

40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90... It happens the same that with 30

¡Suerte en el examen!
