Los mujeres/las mujeres?

Mujeres are women, obviously, but it does end in es so i'm not sure if its feminine las or masculine los...help?

Mujeres is feminine, so the plural with the article would be las mujeres.

You didn't take the easy way out and just figure that a noun that referred to the female sex must be feminine.

It is las mujeres, but many nouns that we would associate with females are not: el pintalabios (lipstick), el bolso (purse), la falda (skirt), la blusa (blouse), el chisme (gossip), (let's see, la tontería-no, la vanidad-no, la envidia-no, los celos, sí, el vestido (dress), sí....I guess it's about 50-50).

It is a good question as in other languages, German occurs to me , where woman or girl is actually neuter, funny guys
