Indirect Object/Direct Object sentences
I´m afraid I am still confused re placement of ID and DO pronouns in sentances.. I seem to remember at one stage being taught that it was to shorten a sentance and avoid repetion. To me it seems to lengthen everything when you are still adding the whole sentance plus object! Greg-Hahn are you out there please?

Nice Daniel, all correct except the interpretation of this one:
Es tan dulce que se les hará la boca agua.
(It is so sweet that they will make your mouth water.) {se les hará = they will make her/his/it's; les = they, se = her/his/it's}----not correct
Se les hará (a ustedes ) la boca agua.
La boca se les hace agua.
I think se is impersonal here, se admiten opiniones. 
Here are some examples from my reading -- I find examples a great way for me to learn. Advanced students please check for correctness.
No se lo tengo. (I don't have it for you) {se = you, IO; lo = it, DO}
Ellos me los dan. (They give them to me.) {me = me, IO; los = them' DO}
Ella te la vende. (She sells it to you.) {la = it, IO; te = you, DO}
Velma sacó una galleta de su bolsillo y se la lanzó. (Velma took a cracker [Scooby Snack] from her pocket and tossed it to him.) {se la lanzó =she tossed it to him; la = it; se = him}
Es tan dulce que se les hará agua la boca. (It is so sweet that they will make your mouth water.) {se les hará = they will make her/his/it's; les = they, se = her/his/it's}
-Venimos a vistar el plató de Las arenas de El Cairo - dijo Daphne y le entregó la carta a Velma, que se la dio a Fred, que se la dio al guardia. ("We came to visit the set of The Sands of Cairo" said Daphne, and she handed the letter to Velma, which she gave it to Fred, which he gave it to the guard.) {se la dio = she/he gave it to her/him}
I think the confusion is when you add the clairificaton. For example, in Heidita's example, Se lo doy a Pedro. Most of the time you'll just see the pronouns without the whole sentnece.
Well, the idea is to shorten the lot:
Le doy un lapiz a Pedro: Se lo doy.
