Estoy buscando el significado exacto de la frase 'en si'. Para me tiene el sentido ingles de 'in itself, himself or herself'. Por ejemply, se puede decir 'el tiene el poder en si para resolver este problema'? Gracias

Sí is a personal pronoun, always used with a preposition. When it is "con+sí" it is converted to "consigo"

And yes, depending on the use it can be in itself, himself, ....

However, it depends of the preposition.

'in itself, himself or herself'. .......... The above is a a little diferent than this example "it in itself is of no value".

Por example, one can say- but is slightly wrong- el tiene el poder en si para resolver este problema..... the above is saying that he she or whomever has the power (to solve a problem) whitin himself.

en sí actually means" it in itself" it actually is a phrase that is describing something,while whitin himself is a phrase that shows posession.
