The best place has always been in a Spanish speaking country. Since most of us can not spend an indefinite amount of time learning abroad, the second best choice would be through a friend or family member that speaks to you daily in Spanish.

Other than that, there are many options. These include language schools and courses, especially the ones that teach by immersion. Usually, if you are learning on your own you will need a combination of methods in order to learn in a well-rounded way. These would include books, c.d.'s, Spanish television, newspapers, flashcards, etc. However, I think if you stick with this website and complete the courses that are offered, you will be well on your way.
