"would" , mistake in conjugation

I searched for "would" and I received a list of six different grammatical ways to use it. Number 6 (conjecture) confused me. The first bullet point... the English is positive but the Spanish is negative... why is there a "no" in the Spanish part?

would that be my pen you're using? -> ¿no será ese bolígrafo que estás usando el mío?

That's not really a website search error. Spanish just has a different way of expressing the thought.

It's like us saying, "Hey, that wouldn't be my pen you're using, would it?"

interesting that the future tense and not the conditional is used to express it. - 0074b507, Sep 12, 2009
