Caminando= walking

Dar un paseo= take a walk

ALSO, how would I change Dar un paseo into the gerund form to say that "I am taking a walk"?

It's the same as the difference in English. "I am walking" means I am moving over a surface by taking steps with my feet. "I am taking a walk" means I am going for a stroll for pleasure or exercise, often in a specific area.

"I am taking a walk" = Estoy dando un paseo. (since you asked for the gerund form) But it doesn't sound natural that way to me....
