Which relative pronoun do I need here, and why?
My spanish teacher says that I need to add a relative pronoun into the below sentence, between tuvieron and manejar...However, I have no idea which one to put in, and why I would need one there.
"Mike y sus amigos tuvieron manejar doce horas para llegar allí."

"Mike y sus amigos tuvieron que manejar doce horas para llegar allí."
If that is what your teacher said, she/he has no clue of grammar. Que is not a relative pronoun here.
Tener que = to have to
We do not do homework here (you must give your own attempt first) but I understand that that was impossible to understand here.
