hasta las narices doubts

If I remind well, there's a typical spanish expression to state -in my case- that a subject is entirely wet, "estar mojado hasta las narices", Am I right and, for curiosity, from which idea came the expression hasta las narices?

Fed up with something. How about this for an example.

Estoy hasta las narices de su risita - I´ve had it up to here with her stupid little laugh.

ps, I am not talking about my wife.

Lyz, you cannot use hasta las narices here, that means: to be fed up with something.

Estoy mojado hasta los huesos.
