would it make sense to say soy irlandesa?

I am trying to say that 'I am Irish' (fem.) so would I say 'Soy irlanesa' or 'Soy una irlandesa'?

You'd say "Soy irlandés" (I am Irish).

I am Irish (adjective) = Soy irlandesa'

I am a Irish woman (noun) = Soy irlandés. (invariant according to our dictionary)
