what does 'la luz' mean here?

I do not understand what purpose 'la luz' serves in the following sentence and what rule was applied to put it there?
Nosotros habremos dado la luz a nuestro hijo para junio. (We will have had our son by June.)
Lets break it down
Nosotros = we
habremos dado = not sure what it means
la luz = not sure again
a = not sure again. supposed to mean "to"
nuestro hijo = our son
para junio = by june
also not sure what does 'dado' and 'a' mean here.

"Dar a luz" is an expression that means to give birth.
"Dado" = given
