why do they refer to someone as papa in mexico and the caribbean islands. Is it because they are old or the boss or what?
@Gfreed...this is really a listening thing. So many people have such thick accents and sometimes "y" comes out as a hard "j", lots of people don't even bother with pronouncing "s", and still others drop "d". People in Spain and Puerto Rico are famed for that. So, it comes down to the skill of listening...which is not an easy skill, in any language. Just ask my wife!
possibly "ayuda a mi papá" ? o "ayúdame papá"?
Hola! First, the word "spanish" only has one "h" , Second, I read it as "ayudame Papi", which, unless it's slang, it means "help me, dad."
