Spanish is very important in todays world no matter what color you are. You can be purple and know spanish. Spanish is not just for mexicans it's for everyone that wants to learn it. See, my mother has an important job, and when someone comes to her and starts speaking spanish she has to find someone that knows how to speak it because she can't. That is an great example of why we need spanish. For work reasons, not just to know, it is very important

In my opinion Spanish is the 2nd most important language in today's world after English - followed by Chinese, Arabic and Russian.

A simple answer would be that it is a communication tool. Why learn any language?
