Is the clock manufactured in a Spanish-speaking country for a Spanish-speaking market? - Janice, Aug 26, 2009

Made In Taiwan LOL

I have no idea, but I would guess that it is an acronym referring to an International Mean Time (probably in French or some other language that requires rearrangement of the letters). Similar to GMT for Greenwich Mean Time or UTC for Coordinated Universal Time. (note the letter rearrangement).

Perhaps the clock was assembled at MIT? Massachusettes Institute of Technology
