How do I say "thank you"?
how do i say thank you

I noticed another strange thing in the dictionary. Thank is called an adjective with examples given in which it is clearly employed as a verb:
thank [zank] adjetivo
* I shall thank you for that favor -> le agradeceré a Ud * Thank you -> gracias * Thank God -> a Dios gracias
gracias
We find again that although there have been improvements, we still cannot always trust the dictionary here at the site.
I decided to, in fact, check the dictionary here at Span¡shD!ct.com to see what it would tell us. [Thank you][1]
I was surprised to find "thank you" listed as a "noun"!
However, it does give the pronunciation and I guess that in the phrase given: "to say thank you to somebody -> dar las gracias a alguien" it is
But in the second example: thank you letter -> carta (f) de agradecimiento, it seems to have the role of an adjective. Or?
And if I were just to say "Thank you!", then of course "thank" is a verb and I would guess from what I have learned here that is is in some form of the imperative mood.
So...Probably our questioner would have to look up not "thank you" but "to thank".
thank you = gracias noun
thank you [??æ?kj?] sustantivo 1. agradecimiento (m) see also thank
* to say thank you to somebody -> dar las gracias a alguien * thank you letter -> carta (f) de agradecimiento;

Well... I think this is the kind of basic thing you should check in a dictionary before asking here, I think. This site has one, for example. Try it, or simply double click on the word "thank".
