¡Te doy las gracias Amber, Rocco, Quentin y Pablo!

I have closed this thread as it has become very confusing. You cannot change the content as previous answers become irrelevant to the new theme. In future just post a new topic. cool smirk

¡[del]Oye personas[/del]Hola gente/todos!

What are some birthday phrases, Christmas, Hannauka, 4th of july, etc. pharses to say?

¡Hola Eric!

Aquí unos enlaces que espero ayuden:

Christmas

Birthday Party:

El Cumpleaños de Joselito:
http://books.google.com.co/books'id=FFpDEMcb5NIC&pg=PA21&lpg=PA21&dq=spanish+phrases+cumpleaños+fiestas&source=bl&ots=1_w2QLEWLC&sig=amHeTl0tEtWxl6geJT3LDQg3TY4&hl=en&ei=vH5zSreaNIjsMeXL9bAM&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=8#v=onepage&q=&f=false

I googled using 'spanish phrases cumpleaños fiestas'.

And here some phrases:

¡Feliz cumpleaños!
¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?
Mi cumpleaños es el xx de abril, etc.
¡No me gusta comprar regalos! ¿a tí si? (espero esté bien escrito 'tí')
¿Qué te regalaron en tu cumpleaños?
¿Te dieron muchos regalos?
¿Donde está el cumpleañero/la cumpleañera?
Necesitamos empacar el regalo.
Necesitamos comprar una tarjeta.

cumpleaños feliz, cumpleaños feliz... que los siga cumpliendo hasta el año diez mil... (estribillo, chorus)

Creo que eso es todo. ¡Qué estés muy bien!

(-Cinco de Mayo- most people here don't even know what the holiday celebrates. It's just a reason to party).

Very true! Even many Mexicans, particularly ones from areas not close to Puebla, don't know what the holiday celebrates. Many of them admit that it is the same for them, like many holidays and birthdays, etc.--just an excuse to party.

Just yesterday I was reading an article about this on SpanishDict.com's blog, which I didn't even know existed until yesterday, and which I would have a hard time remembering how to get back to today.

ONE way is to click on the colorful SpanishDict logo on the top left of the page. That will take you back to what I sometimes get as a homepage. On the right hand side you will see a link for the SpanishDict blog.

or go there directly:

Okay but I changed my topic so do you know any holiday phrases?

¡Salud! (-Cinco de Mayo- most people here don't even know what the holiday celebrates. It's just a reason to party).

sample site:
Spanish Christmas words
special occasion phrases
http://www.elanguages.info/spanish-holiday-phrases.htm

I found one that shows party phrases in Spanish: Would you like an hors d'oeuvres? Would you prefer the fish or the steak', but you have to filter to too many salutation phrases to find them.

cumpleaños m; (of institution etc) aniversario m;
It'll be his fifth birthday. Cumple cinco años;
Happy birthday! ¡Feliz cumpleaños!;
(before n)cake/card/party de cumpleaños;
The birthday boy/girl -- El (niño)/la (niña) del cumpleaños, el cumpleañero/la cumpleañera
(AmL)
