live Spanish conversation

Hello everyone! I am a beginning Spanish student. I am teaching myself Spanish at home using such resources as Spanishdict.com, LomasTV.com, the Pimsleur Spanish course, and I`m also working out of a traditional Spanish grammer book. However, the one resource I lack is the ability to hold a real conversation (talk not text) with another human being. Is there some resource out there-free or paid, where I can go to do this? I`m thinking in terms of a telephone conversation, one-on-one, or a conference call so I can actually get the feel of speaking and listening to Spanish in an uncontrolled, unscripted way. Any ideas'

I use Speak Shop (.com) for my live Spanish lessons via Skype. It's $10 per hour and the teachers, from Guatemala, are wonderful.

Apparently when the "new" site launches soon next week, there is going to be a video chat feature. That link also has a ton of info. on all the updates the launch will bring. grin

We used to have a voice chat room, but we lost that feature. There are many other sites that have one, however. Most offer private rooms where you can chat one on one.
Have you tired using Skype (telephone conversations) through your computer.
Most instant messengers or services like ICQ allow free video/audio/teleconferencing. Works best if you have a headset.
Finding a media for conversing isn't as hard as finding the correct person to talk with. This thread isn't long enough for me to list the difficulties that can arise in these conversations. Best of luck.
