'Moved' as in moved house.
Hello
I need to write a short biography about myself, and wish to say 'In 2000 I moved house' however I cannot find the correct word for moved. Can someone please help me out? Thanks.
-edit-
Google tells me 'mudado de casa' is this correct?

to move (from one residence to another) is mudarse de casa
Me mudé de Londrés a Madrid.
I think you want mudarse unless you physically moved your house (the building): mover
Mudar - to move (casa)
Mudar de - to move (domicilio)
I wonder what a native speaker makes of it. Is it a mistake?
Mudar is normally a transitive verb, and the typical constructions with clothes, houses,... are:
Mudar alguien [D.O.] de algo (a algo)
Mudar algo [D.O] a alguien
If you don't move anyone, but you (yourself), use:
Mudarse de algo (a algo)
Hi Janice You are correct regarding the dictionary entries. It lists the verbs below as to move house, but uses casa and domicilio which to me means house.
Mudar - to move (casa)
Mudar de - to move (domicilio)
I wonder what a native speaker makes of it. Is it a mistake?
I am glad you have answered this, Quentin, because - in fact - the dictionary here at span¡ishD!ct.com does not make this clear:
mudar transitive verb
- to change (cambiar); to move (casa)
cuando mude la voz when his voice breaks
- to molt (piel, plumas)
intransitive verb
- (cambiar) mudar de -> to> change; (opinión, color) to move (domicilio)
Mudarse is listed, of course, but ... why would I necessarily look ahead having seen the "move (casa) and move (domicilio). And how would I know not to have picked one of those?
mudarse pronomial verbalso: mudarse (de casa) -> to move (house) mudarse (de ropa) -> to change
(I do not have access to my Gran Dicctionario Oxford, being at work right now)
All that said, I would have picked mudarse, but only because I know other languages already. I am trying to put myselves in the shoes of someone first being introduced to the idea. So, again, it is good that you have answered this! I am curious, though now, about the dictionary entry.
