Lazarus is right in that it is a very clear cognate. However, I'll explain it to you tongue laugh An infinitive is the simplest form of a verb; in English, this corresponds to "to + verb." There are 3 types of infinitives in Spanish: those that end in -AR, those that end in -ER, and those that end in -IR.

For example...

  • Hablar (to speak)
  • Comer (to eat)
  • Vivir (to live)

LIghten up. It's his first post and he's a newbie. So he either can't spell or can't type. What else is new? - 0074b507, Aug 19, 2009
I believe that you are correct. He was probably asking what are the 3 conjugations. - 0074b507, Aug 19, 2009

There isn't such a word. The correct one is "infinitivos", and considering that it is nearly identical to the English "infinitives", I am not going to explain it.

First, I wrote "I am not explaining it", and then I changed it, but I messed the whole thing. - lazarus1907, Aug 18, 2009
