How to say "don't kid yourself"

How to say "don't kid yourself"

Saw a Spanish documentary and I figure they said the equivalent in English of "don't kid yourself" or "don't let yourself be fooled". I thought the Spanish sounded like "no dejete de engan~ar", but the grammar isn't quite right with that.

Anyone know how to say the phrase in Spanish. (Online translators sounded weird on this one.)

Thanks,
Bob

O, posiblemente, "No dejes que se te engañen. "Don't let yourself be fooled".No, that would be, "Don't let them fool themselves on you."

No dejes que te engañen. = Don't let them fool you.

Bob said he thought it sounded like:

I am just guessing, based on those sounds and number of symbols, what it might have been.

The way I would say "Don't kid yourself" is "No te engañes."

The way I would say "Don't let yourself be fooled" is "No te dejes engañar."

Hola rocco, no te engañes es posible.

No te engañes, nadie te va a querer como te quise yo.¡Claro! No lo estuve rechazando, sólo le ayudaba a Moe con su 'n? que le faltaba.

Pero respondía a esto:

Me imagino que fue 'No te dejes engañar', menos que sea, 'No te dejé de engañar.? Eso te da las mismas sílabas, pero parece no tener razón en el poco de contexto que tenemos.

By the way, welcome to the forums, Bob.

Hola, Bob:

See this page under the SpanishDict "Dictionary" Tab:

http://www.spanishdict.com/translate/kid

item 3 on this page shows' "to kid oneself -> engañarse".

Properly conjugated, the answer you are looking for is;

"No te egañes" Don't kid yourself.

I assume what you heard was, "No te dejes engañar" ... "Don't let yourself be fooled."

Dejarse = to permit/allow/let oneself

See this entry: Dejarse/Dejarse engañar
