Smile = sonrisa

smiley = sonriente

According to this site, it is normally sonriente, but, when you refer to the smiley face it is just smiley (not translated). Sounds reasonable to me. A lot of foreign words aren't translated. grin

Smiley means in Spanish sonrie if you're using it like when somebody is taking a picture and said smiley!!! But normally means sonrisa
