How do you know when to use lo, la or le?

Too complex to explain in just one post, even if you are an expert in grammar, but in theory, "lo/la/los/las" is used for direct objects (more or less, those things or people upon which you exert the main action), and "le/les" is used for indirect objects (more or less, those things or people that/who are directly affected by the consequences of your actions).

I also think that the best way to understand this is to go to Lesson 2 and do the lesson on direct/indirect pronouns. Plus, for lo and la, lo is male and la is female, so that will help you distinguish between pronouns. Again, just watch the video for direct/inderect object pronouns. smile
