Just curious...How and why was this website started?

I was curious about how this website was started. Why do the administrators work on this site and how long have they been doing it?

The main idea of this website was to teach Spanish. The creator Christopher and the teacher Paralee have done their best to achieve this aim.

A great question, because I have wondered the same thing. There seems to be no profit motive, except a few banner ads, which is very unusual.

I just had a look at the activity section and it is amazing how much use this site gets. I suspect with a micro monthly payment, a lot of people would leave, but it could still be very profitable, but this does not seem to be the motivation.

I think all we can say is 'thank you'

If profit ever became the primary motivating factor it would probably/almost certainly discourage the vast majority of active users from continuing to use this site to learn and improve their Spanish; so defeating the primary purpose of its existence! - FELIZ77, Jun 24, 2017

This site is, in my opinion, the best site available. And the answers to questions are very prompt and detailed. The only downside is the occasional slow speed. I opt to forgive that because of the other qualities.
