can someone tell me what this means when someone says "da le" I don't know if this is spelled correctly in spanish.

object pronouns (le is an indirect object pronoun) either precede the verb or are attached to it (infinitives, gerund, or commands).
Since da is neither an infinitive nor a gerund, then it must be a command for the le to follow it.
dale is the verb dar conjugated with the le object pronoun attached
[tú] Dale el libro. Give the book to him/her. (da-informal command-dar)
If you heard dale by itself it was short for dáselo. (give "it" to him/her with the "it" omitted (Give him/her...perhaps pointing at the object)

it means a lot of stuff. mostly tho....heres an example. say im standing on the edge of a cliff and im supposed to jump off but im scared. my friend is waiting for me to jump so he tells me. 'dale!' that means like...go!
I hope the person jumping has a parachute or some other means of preventing death otherwise the friend telling her to jump isn't much of a friend. Plus the fact I think it is wrong, however, I stand to be corrected on this point. qfreed's explanation gets my vote.
