is it possible to get the same badge twice?

this is just a general question i was wondering about, but i want to know if it is possible to get the same badge twice

for example, what if you got the same badge for getting 100 views on a different question?

Good question! Some badges can only be earned once, and other badges can be earned an unlimited number of times. It should generally be clear from the badge description whether or not it can be earned multiple times. For instance, "complete your first lesson" is only ever going to happen once. You can also only reach 10,000 reputation once, and you can only follow us on Twitter once, so it makes sense that those badges can only be earned once. Others are, admittedly, a little ambiguous in their wording. Educator, Inquisitive, and Linguist can also only be earned once. But, to answer your specific question, there's no limit to how many "popular questions" you can ask. Some are limited only by the content available on the site. There are currently 5 full courses with a 6th underway (including Aprender Ingles courses), so you can get the "By the Book" badge 5 times, and you'll be able to get it a sixth time once Learn Spanish 4 is complete. While we're at it, note that badges are also never taken away, even if you no longer qualify for it. If 5 people vote for your question, you get a badge. If all those people un-vote, you keep your badge, and if they all vote for you again, you won't be awarded another badge for it.
