That's excellent, Pablo. Have you ever taken her on a trip to an English-speaking country?

Radio Vaughan? What's that?

No, never. We almost have no options. I think talking to her has helped me with my English too. It's not easy to 'convince' a kid that it's important to know other language not being in touch with people who speak that second language.

It's a service from Vaughan Systems, a company founded by Richard Vaughan, a teacher from Texas, who has been living and teaching English in Spain for over 30 years. His method is based on a bilingual and the conversational approach. I found that method fills an important gap, I mean, I think all methods have something good.

Excellent! I will look into that.

Encourage your daughter to keep going with her English. Thinking about the future, there will be so many more opportunities for her if she can manage herself well in the language, both in Colombia and abroad.

No Eric, she is not an 'on-line girl'. To improve her English, I ask her to keep listening to some special podcasts (from Radio Vaughan) and during weekends we are together and do some activities like to watch a movie in English with captions in Spanish or English or to practice bilingual phrases. That's excellent, Pablo. Why 12 year old girls? Why not a 39 year old man or a 13 year old boy or a 80 year old woman'
