1. (to bestow)
a. conceder
The victorious general received the highest honor conferred by his country.El general victorioso recibió el más alto honor concedido por su país.
b. otorgar
The powers conferred on the committee of inquiry are limited.Los poderes otorgados al comité de investigación son limitados.
c. conferir (formal)
A word or phrase used to refer to the second person formal “usted” by their conjugation or implied context (e.g. usted).

An intransitive verb is one that does not require a direct object (e.g. The man sneezed.).
2. (to have discussions; often used wih "with")
