The pronoun [this] ([one]) is translated by [este] (masc), [esta] (fem) and [esto] (neuter). Note that in the past the standard spelling for the masculine and feminine pronouns was with an accent ([éste/ésta]). Nowadays the [Real Academia Española] advises that the accented forms are only required where there might otherwise be confusion with the adjectives [este/esta]. The neuter pronoun never carries an accent.
