3. (to retreat)
a. to pull back El ejército perdió terreno en la batalla y decidió retroceder. The army lost ground in the battle and decided to pull back.
4. (firearms)
a. to recoil No me gusta usar las armas de fuego que retroceden con mucha fuerza. I don't like to use firearms that recoil with a lot of force.
